The good news is, we have more rain on the way! The bad news is we have more rain on the way.
Unfortunately this means we must postpone our ANNUAL BRUSHY CREEK ONE FLY TOURNAMENT, and further out than we expected. The tournament will now be hosted in the AFTERNOON of May 27th, following our TEXAS SNAKE ID class.
9:00 A.M. – Fly Shop Opens / Coffee & Donuts
10:00 A.M. – Texas Snake ID Class
1:00 P.M. – Mandatory One Fly Tournament Briefing
1:15 P.M. – Tournament Begins
4:45 P.M. – Tournament Ends
5:00 P.M. – Photo “Weigh In”
5:30 P.M. – Winners Announced or Tie Breaker Fish Off / Prizes Awarded
6:00 P.M. – Fly Shop Closes

BRUSHY CREEK ONE FLY TOURNAMENT

Our Annual BRUSHY CREEK ONE FLY TOURNAMENT is scheduled for this Saturday, May 13!*
In this creek tournament, anglers are presented with a particular challenge. Catch (and release) as many species as possible using only ONE fly! Not one pattern, one single fly.
There is no entry fee and no registration is required. Both traditional and tenkara style fly fishing are acceptable. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place!

Fishing is great still on the Gudalupe River

Beautiful days and beautiful fish. Loving the extended spring.
Probably should not say that fishing has been great, there have been few people on the river and it has been great fishing. Now that we have said something, might get some more people on the water!

NBFF Fly Tying Nite this Thursday, May 4th

Come join us this coming Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. at the Westside Community Center, 2932 South Interstate 35 Frontage Road in New Braunfels.  This month we will be tying the Gridle Bug and Pat’s Rubber Legs flies, both are great trout flies on the Guad and other streams.  The club will supply the needed materials for tying.  We also have some Club tying equipment available, if you have none, or you can bring your own.  Tie a few for yourself and a few for the Club raffle that we hold at our monthly Club meetings.  Hope to see you there.
