Another successful Learn to Fly Fish event

Even though it was off and on light rain, and a bit cool, we had a very nice group of people show up for our learn to fly fish class this Saturday.

For more class info, and advanced class’s, go to actionangler.net and subscribe to their news letter, and you will get notification with links to the next class’s or other special events. The news letter is about once a month unless there is some really big news, so you will not get bombarded every day. The trout are in the water, so get out there and practice good catch and release. New Braunfels Fly Flishers November/December Meeting – Wednesday Dec 9th

Darryl Yarbrough has reserved the Pavilion at the Summit. We will meet Wednesday, December 9 at 7:00 PM. The Summit is located at 13105 River Road. Take a right into the venue (toward the river), go to the pool, park and the pavilion is behind the clubhouse. It is lighted so that shouldn’t be a problem. Bring a chair so we can social distance.

Dakus Geeslin will be our speaker and his topic will be GRTU Trout Youth Camp, their mission, and how the club may be able to help support it.

Holdover Tournament 2020 Results

The weather was great for the “Holdover Tournament” on November 7^th but the trout didn’t cooperate. Sunfish numbers won the day with a redhorse sucker taking “big fish”. The New Braunfels Fly Fishers would like to thank the 12+ contestants for their participation and support. Some are pictured below:

The club would also like to thank the local fly shops and outfitters for their donation of prizes: Living Water Fly Shop, Castell Guide Service, Gruene Outfitters, Action Angler & Outdoor Center, and the estate of Mike Wright.

Also, we appreciate the guides who donated their time, equipment and expertise. These include Chris Jackson, Grace Dauzat and Dane Cone.
