River Clean up, a good time was had.

Thank you to everyone who showed up for our Spring River Clean Up! It was good to see folks, do some work on the river and visit over some burgers and dogs afterwards! Thanks to Action Angler & Outdoor Center- Guadalupe River, New Braunfels, TX for hauling away the trash and recyclable’s and to Rio Guadalupe Resort & RV Park – Rio Raft for hosting us! Mark Mehrens Rivers Wanted Photography with the extra effort as he snorkled for “treasure”! Also, New Braunfels Fly Fishers showed up in force and were a huge help!

You know that some real effort went into cleaning the river when you get people to dive for trash!

Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited Spring River Cleanup

Action Angler & Outdoor Center- Guadalupe River, New Braunfels, TX is in Guadalupe River.

Free drinks and BBQ  at the end of the cleanup. This has always been a fun event. People have in the past brought back all sorts of things, from rocking chairs, cans, bottles, broken ATV ramps, whole chicken from HEB, still in the wrapper, but very non grillable! Come and help and see what you can find in the river!

The 16th annual Fly Fishing Film Tour is back at Gruene Hall with a selection of films that are sure to get you fired up. From Costa Rica to Australia to Louisiana and beyond, catch the action and amazing stories of anglers from across the globe. All profits from this event will be donated to the Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited (GRTU) Youth Camp.

GRTU Youth Camp

The GRTU Youth Camp is an intensive experience for youth ages 12-17 and a parent/guardian. Participants spend 2 days and 2 nights in riverside cabins learning and experiencing the rainbow trout fishery.  The highlight of camp is a half day guided trip fly fishing for rainbow trout. Since 2015 the Youth Trout Camp has served over 200 youth and parents from all over Texas. For more info click here.
